Coming soon…

Hope you all enjoy the holidays and have a hillarious feast!
Many of you have asked when HotGloo will be ready for launching. Well we are approaching the finishing line but there are still a couple of things to sort out before we can get started.
What we have accomplished so far:
- building the HotGloo site
- improving the Editor
- implementing new features
Many many things to announce soon. Plus we will have a special holiday deal for all our trusting beta tester…more details coming within the next weeks.
Hope you’ll all stick around, thank you for a very successful 2009 and happy wireframing in 2010!
- Hannes & WD
@HotGloo

Last week we teamed up with friends and colleagues of superReal to join them at their annual christmas party. First stop was the ice-skating rink at Planten un Blomen, where we experienced developable skills concerning ice skating. On the picture above you can spot Michael, HotGloo screen designer, torturing an innocent penguin he nicked from a screaming 5-year-old and Sarah, graphic design intern, witnessing the crime scene.

After impressing other people on the rink, our crowd was hungry so we headed off to the christmas party dinner, which combined the best of austrian and japanese food: Wienerschnitzel, Sushi and Kaiserschmarrn. Last stop was the cocktail bar Die Welt ist schön in St. Pauli. That was where most party people lost track…

As I’m writing this entry, there are about 60 users, at the same time, building wireframes in the HotGloo editor —> and everything is running cool and smooth!
Thank you for all the positive feedback today. It’s amazing to see HotGloo growing and improving, thanks to your help, every single day.
Absolutely fatastic. I’ve been a big fan of Balsamiq Mockup for a while now, but this is my new mockup tool of choice.
THE BEST online wireframe tool!
I wanted to say, job well done. I’ve tried the various online wirefame webapps, the Adobe AIR apps, and the client sides (Axure and iRise). Axure is the only one to truly sell me, but what little I got to work with yours today, really, really impressed. Excellent job to everyone there.
I hope that we can announce the HotGloo Launch date next week, and will provide more info about upcoming features and our pricing system.
So long thank you again for sticking around and contributing. Talk to you soon.
Hi there,
also a long requested feature is now up and running. PDF page export. Just switch to review mode and choose whether you want to export your project as a PNG or as a PDF file. Within PDF export you can also choose which pages you want to export, plus orientation (portrait or landscape), size, content & customize the footer.

We also followed Samuel’s request:
From a UI standpoint I do not understand why if there are no changes to be saved I have to click through a modal dialog.
The usecase: I want to make sure my changes are saved on the server.
The action: periodically clicking the save button.
The expected result: the saved at date updates if it needs to. Otherwise it silently fails to save as there is nothing to save.
The actual result: When I have changes to be saved Iget exactly as I expected: the saved at date updates. When I do not have changes my work flow is interupted by a modal dialog that I have to click through even though it serves no function but to tell me that there were no changes to be saved.
The request: Please, please, please simply remove this dialog. The only thing is does is frustrate your users when they are trying to get work done!
We got rid of the modal “Saving dialog” and also put the Save Button in the upper navigation bar. Cheers Samuel for the feedback!
Enjoy…

New elements available now!

Hi there,
hope everyone survived the Halloween madness. I nearly ran over some Halloween psyched kids with my bike, cycling home from the office late Saturday evening. We finished the shooting for our Sokoban video this weekend. At the moment I’m editing the footage together with a friend of mine – a rookie photographer, so to say. We will work on the video this week and hopefully we will present it to you guys next week.
Also the screen design for the upcoming HotGloo launch started today whilst Hannes is busy updating and improving the editor. Keep us posted with feedback, we take a look at each line contributed – some amazing ideas have been realized with the help of you Glooers – thanks for that. Talk to you soon…
Our Payment Service Provider is giving us hard times, that’s why we haven’t come up with our pricing system yet. Announcing something which turns out to be not realizable doesn’t make sense, does it? So we are trying other options and hopefully next week we will come up with a solution. Can anyone share experiences with a reliable Payment Gateway Provider and a Merchant Bank Account provider within Europe? Would be interesting on which basis you have chosen your provider and how comfortable you are with your decision.
For today, we started to shoot a mini stop-motion video with photo geek friends of us which will be featured on the HotGloo launch site later on. Enough for today, now I’ll grab my Darth-Vader costume and vanish into the night. Happy Halloween everyone!
Hey Glooers,
right for the weekend we updated HotGloo and want to introduce a new element to you: the Accordion. An Accordion is a navigator container that displays its children containers as a series of panels. Just try it out it’s very ease to use and a great extension of our element list!

By the way, thanks to Sarah for designing the new beautiful icons!
This time for real! HotGloo is moving to another server starting on Sunday, 18th October, 23:00 (Berlin Time/UTC+1). For your time zone conversion please click here. Moving shouldn’t take too long (approx. 30min.) and hopefully everything is running smooth afterwards. If there are any connection troubles occuring during this time – don’t panic! It will only take a few minutes, then everything will be back to normal.
