Beta is over – HotGloo has launched!
Beta is over! You can’t login to a Beta Account – Need to sign up again!
We’ve sent out a couple of Newsletter regarding this topic, seems that some of you haven’t received one. Beta accounts are not accessible anymore, but you can transfer beta projects to a new HotGloo account! Sign up for a new account (you can use the same ID as in the Beta or a new one). After sign up, login and you’ll find the Transfer Beta Projects Box on the right side. Will get you to the Import site: fill out the data Beta HotGloo ID you want to import, Beta Username, Beta Password and hit import. May take a while, depending on the size of the imported project!

Hey, congrats on your new release!
A small question: You don’t have a free trial/demo version anymore? Do new users need to pass through a 5 steps registration process in order to try your app?
You can also choose our free plan: 1 project and 2 users.
Greetings hotgloo.
I have signed up for the launched version but when I go to import the 2 projects saved on my beta account, I get an error saying that the Beta Account not found?…
WHich makes me nervous because two active website projects where used in this system and I can’t go back to the client to say hey lets go through all that again…
any help would be appreciated

Hi,
We’re still evaluating if this is what we need and if we are going to sign up but not yet and I can’t get an export of my existing project now which is not exactly ideal, my boss is mad, my client is mad as much as I like your app I’m not going to sign up for something that automatically blocks me out of the project without the option to export.
@James
Hopefully everything is sorted out by now!
Free online demo would be nice without having to sign up. Or at least screen shots or video.
Unfortunately the video didn’t work out to be ready for the launch, that’s why we went with the slideshow meanwhile. But Video is coming soon…
Your site needs work. I click “Sign Up” in the upper right and it takes me to a “Pricing & Sign Up” page which has a big blank area below it. Looking at the page source code, apparently this is where some Flash object should be, but nothing’s there. Scrolling down, it seems to be more of an “about” kind of page as it has nowhere to sign up. Maybe the real sign up is found under “FAQs – PRICING AND SIGN UP”. So I click that. I see a bunch of questions and answers… good. I see a big pink call to action “Sign Up” on the right side. I click on that. Then click a few more times. Oh, it’s not a call to action… it’s showing me where I currently am in the FAQ. And there is no link to actually sign up. Isn’t that something you think people might want to do after reading the FAQ entry about it?
Well, it looks the Alternative Sign Up allows me to create a “Free Acoount [sic]“. So I do that and provide my email address and password (and other details). On the resulting success screen, there’s a button to “LOG IN NOW”. I click on that and it asks me to enter my email address and password that I JUST PROVIDED. Why doesn’t it remember the information less than five seconds after I provided it? Computers are supposed to remember info like that rather than forcing the user to type it in all over again.
I’m hoping my experience in using this thing will be better than trying to sign up has demonstrated so far.
Your timezone doesn’t appear to be used. I specified GMT-8 but it’s showing the project’s “last calling” (last edited?) time 8 hours in the future.
@Site User thanks for sharing your thoughts. As the HotGloo editor requires flash the sign up configurator also does. Without flash no HotGloo. But your absolutely right we need to put the message out that flash is required but I think we go for an HTML alternative sign up window for non flash updaters.
Logging in for the first time needs to put in user data manually – for security reasons, that’s industry standard!
Timezone will be fixed.
Why do you ask for my credit card # when I am trying to use my 30 day free trial code? pier14
Thanks,
Dave
Why do you ask for my credit card when I am trying to use my 30 day free trial code?
We need a user verification, because there is only one promo code allowed per person.
Hi again,
I don’t want to give you credit card info unless I decide to pay for it. How do I get my free trial?
Also, I never got a response to my orginal via email. I had to come here and check to see that you replied. Don’t you sned emails. I thought I was sending a question, not post a comment on a b log.
Dave
Sorry Dave, but that’s how our plans are settled. You don’t want to enter payment details at the sign up? Go for the free plan take a look around, get a taste of HotGloo – if you like what you see, you can always upgrade to Sokoban at any time.
The Flash objects on your site don’t work for users who have the debug version of Flash installed. I’m an Adobe Flex developer and require the debug version, so this means your site doesn’t work in my browser. I had to open things up in Chrome which doesn’t have the debug version. Note that every other site with Flash installed work fine with debug Flash, so there’s likely some issue in your Flash that needs to be fixed.
Regarding the industry standard of requiring manual data entry… I don’t get it. I just manually entered the data in order to sign up for the account. I could understand the extra step if you followed the industry standard of sending a confirmation email with a randomly generated password, but you don’t appear to follow that particular industry standard. So why make me manually enter the information that I just manually entered three seconds ago? It serves no practical purpose and has zero added security benefit.

@site user: I’m the developer of HotGloo. I also have the debug version of Flash, I am also an Adobe Flex developer but I’ve never had any troubles. Also it seems that other developers did not experience any issues here.
